Halloween

We carved our own pumpkins for Halloween this year. Dalton picked a dragon, we ended up searching the internet for pictures and found one that he liked I drew it on the pumpkin and then cut and scrapped to make it look like he wanted it.

His costume was also a dragon. He was so excited that he wore everyday for 2 weeks before Halloween. I've never seen him so excited about his costume.

Caitlins was a Princess for Halloween and she was crying because she didn't like Bradly holding her. She didn't like the crown neither. It was all rather funny.

Her pumpkin was small and had a simple face.

Playing in the leaves

My children love fall for all the leaves that fall down. Most of the time it's Skylar and Brennan playing in the leaves, but this year it was Caitlin and Dalton who had the most fun in the leaves. Caitlin enjoys being outside all the time. So playing in the leaves was one of the perks of cleaning up the leaves. It was a lot of fun watching them play, bury each other and hop around. Skylar and Brennan acted so grown up with Dalton and Caitlin, helping them get the leaves gathered and helping them cover up and get out. It was fun watching them play together.

Caitlin at 11 days old

When Caitlin first came home from the hospital she was so tiny that one of Skylar's friends thought she was a doll and almost sat his book on top of her. I barely caught him before he actually did it. His response to me was that his sisters had dolls bigger than Caitlin. It was a shock for all of us that she was SO tiny. She weighed 4 lbs. 3 oz. and was 16.5 inches in length. Just a tiny little thing.

Caitlin came home from the hospital after 11 days in N.I.C.U. I have tremendous respect for the nurses and doctors that work in the Neonatal intensive care unit. Caitlin was 5 weeks and 2 days early and ended up being smaller than the doctors thought she was going to be. They assumed she would be around 5 to 6 lbs., but when they got in to take her, via c-section, they found her umbilical cord was tied in a knot. If she had gone full term she probably wouldn't have lived. Thank heaven for modern medicine.

I am grateful that she is healthy and happy. When she came home she slept a lot, I used to have to wake her for most of her feedings. In the N.I.C.U. she had a feeding tube in for a couple of days, she kept pulling it out. They decided to leave it and not feed her that way. We just had to keep trying with the droppers and the bottles. When we brought her home she was eating 2 ounces of milk at each feeding. Quite a job for such a small little girl.

Playing in the Leaves

Skylar, Brennan and Dalton have always loved the leaves. Every year they build huge piles,invite friends over and have a party playing in the leaves. Our friend Sarah Miles brought her boys, Jesse, Bridger and Isaac over and let them play with our boys it was a ton of fun. I think they buried each other a couple hundred times and lost the youngest two boys a few times we had to fish them out of the center of the pile. I remember them trying to ride their bike through the center, but the pile was so big, they only made it a few feet into it. The good old days.
This is a portion of all the leaves we get every year. One year we buried three grown men in our pile. Totally cool. It depends on how ambitious everyone is in gathering our leaves into one big pile instead of a bunch of smaller piles.

Dalton's Birthday

Birthdays are a real big deal at our house. We always do something for their birthday. Dalton's 2nd birthday we spent with Grandma and Grandpa Wright at their house. We had chocolate cake, Dalton's favorite and chocolate ice cream. He opened his presents and loved everyone of them.
