Family Visits

Tony

Ralph and Jim Hiding as usual! They're scared of pictures.
Nathan

Deb, Christopher and Bridgette

Emily
We had a partial family get together while Roxann was in town. I don't think we will ever get the whole family together at the same time. The ones missing this time were Arlynda, Kris and Jan. Tony and Lori suggested getting together while Roxann was here. Most of those who came were local to Coalville, I said most. Nathan came down from Evanston Wyo. and I traveled down from Logan. Jan and Arlynda live farther away and Kris had my Dad, who had just had surgery, to take care of. He's the reason Roxann came to visit and stayed with him for about a week. Sometimes it takes surgery and stuff like that to pull a family closer together.

Lori, Joe, Roxann, Ellie, Tyrel's girlfriend, and Tyrel's back
Our family has fobia's of pictures being taken. I know I'm one of them, but if I have to I will let them take a picture. It'll be much better and I won't mind so much, when I've lost the 40 lbs. I want to loose.

We had a good time together. While we were there Caitlin just wanted to play outside, Joes daughter Bridgette offered to take her outside and play with her. I followed to take pictures. It was cool.

I couldn't keep up with all the conversations going on, however I did get a chance to talk with everyone it was a lot of fun. I enjoy family considering we are so wide spread it's a miracle that we get together at all.

Granparents and Kids

Before Jim's dad passed away we decided we needed to get pictures with all the living Grandparents and our children. I'm glad we did it because these are the last pictures we got to take of Jim's dad with our kids.

I think it's so important to me because, my natural mom's parents passed away long before I was born so all I have is pictures of them. I want my two youngest children who will probably not remember our parents very well to ask questions and learn about their grandparents.
I know that as a child. I wanted to know my grandparents. I wanted to know what they were like, what they did for a living and their likes and dislikes. There weren't a lot of people who knew them. My aunts and uncles knew them. My mom passed away when I was really young so I didn't even know her very well. So I've had to learn about her and my grandparents from my siblings and my aunts and uncles.
Jim's dad's parents died when he was five and he doesn't remember them very well. Any information that I've been able to get I've gotten from Jim's dad or brothers and sisters.

Visiting Grandparents

We thought it was just going to be us visiting with Grandma and Grandpa. Instead we had a mini family reunion. I only got a picture of Deb, Roxann, and Caitlin together but at least I got a picture. Dalton and Caitlin had a lot of fun playing and running around. Skylar and Brennan just watched t.v.. It was exciting to have all of them there. It was little too much for Caitlin in that small apartment. she needed a nap but wasn't willing to take one because she might miss out on all the fun.

Snow Snow and more Snow!

On Monday we got 14 inces of snow which my children were loving. We did have to shovel off the trampoline as you can see it was loaded. Brennan did most of the work, which was okay because he enjoys getting his frustration out on something besides his brothers. My kids still thought it should be spring though, they were outside without coats. Silly boys.

Air Bags

Did you know that air bags can go off if you slam the vehicle door too hard. My two oldest boys learned this yesterday. We were sitting in the middle school parking lot. They were fighting over the door, actually Skylar was pulling and pushing the door, driving Brennan crazy. Brennan pulled really hard and the air bag went off. It was very loud. It scared us all pretty bad. My children learned an important lesson about being gentle with doors. They'll never do that again. We are making them work to pay for the air bag. They're not happy, but I think this is a valuable lesson. They need to learn there are consequences to their actions and even though they didn't know there was an air bag in the seat they shouldn't be slamming the doors. I hope they learn to treat things with respect because of this.

Caitlin's Messes

Caitlin loves to draw and has made art on about every surface in our house. The other day I fed her lunch we left her plate on the table while we went to get her brothers from school. We came home, I didn't put the plate away and she found a pencil made art on the plate. This was easy to clean up.

We went to Layton to see Grandpa and Grandma and went to lunch with Grandpa and Aunt Kris while Grandma had surgery on her toe. Caitlin wouldn't eat her lunch so we brought it home. I sat it down and she helped herself while I was bringing stuff in the house. Again she chose to make art with Dalton's fry sauce all down the front of her. Yes playing in it was one of her criteria. Alas, instead of getting mad I ran for the camera.

Birthday Celebration!

We celebrated Brennan's birthday a couple of weeks ago. We have a tradition in our family that allows the birthday person to pick what they want their cake to look like and Mom makes it. Most of the time they turn out pretty cool. He wanted his cake to look like the book Brisingr. I gave it my best shot and he loved it. This is actually one of the quickest cakes I've ever made. I love rolled fondant. Now the kids think I can make anything. We took him and his friends ice skating because that is all Brennan wanted to do. We came back to the house and had cake and ice cream. It was a lot of fun.

I Finally Did it!

Family and friends I finally got the bug, I'm blogging. After reading my sister's blog and my cousin's blog I finally decided to join in. Once I figure out what I'm doing I'm sure it will be better.
